About WISE RPG
About the Creator
I'm Trent Ford, a lifelong tabletop game lover and the creator of WISE RPG. I have years of experience running Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition as a game master (GM) and even more time as a player. I publish my game supplements under my Construct Turtle Studio company.
In addition to my game-related experience, I have a master's degree in computer science (Computer Systems and Software Design) and have worked as a software developer and web developer. You could say I have an eye for systems.
My approach to TTRPGs combines my love for storytelling with my background in systems design. I believe that the right tools and frameworks can help GMs create more immersive worlds and tell better stories, while reducing the stress and time investment required.
The WISE RPG Story
WISE RPG began as a personal project to solve my own challenges with worldbuilding and campaign management. As a GM, I found myself spending countless hours preparing for sessions, only to feel like I wasn't doing justice to the worlds I was creating.
I started developing systems and templates to help me organize my thoughts and streamline my preparation process. These tools evolved into what would become the WISE RPG method and Creator's Kit.
In 2024, I launched a Kickstarter campaign to bring WISE RPG to the broader TTRPG community. The campaign was successfully funded, and I began developing the course and Creator's Kit.
Building on this success, I launched a second Kickstarter in 2025 to fund four specialized courses that dive deeper into specific aspects of TTRPG creation and management: Time Management, Campaign Crafting, Overcoming Writer's Block, and Knowledge Management with Obsidian.
